Site prep has commenced on the long-awaited expansion of The Club at Black Rock, an exclusive residential and recreational enclave in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The original 650-acre development, which contains a Jim Engh-designed layout ranked as the "Best New Private Golf Course" by Golf Digest in 2003, boasts resort-like amenities including a 30,000 square-foot clubhouse, a 129-slip marina, access to Black Rock Ranch and 24-hour concierge services.

The new 1,150 acre expansion involves a Tom Weiskopf-designed course as well as a new clubhouse. The golf club will have space for 345 new memberships. When the course opens in spring 2009, members will have access to both courses. In addition to hundreds of home sites, and an area called "Village Homes and Golf Cottages,”"the new development will contain an EquestrianCenter and Kootenai Camp - a clubhouse designed for kids and teens. Related golf facilities will include an 18-hole putting course, a par-3 layout course and an enhanced practice area.

The gated community, located above RockfordBay on LakeCoeur d'Alene, is located 30 minutes from Spokane and 40 minutes from SpokaneInternationalAirport. Current carriers include Alaskan/Horizon, Southwest, Delta, American Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Delta Airlines, US Airways and United Airlines.

The vision behind the Club at Black Rock is Marshall Chesrown. Chesrown also owns and operates Black Rock Aviation, Black Rock Marina, Rockford Bay Investments, BRMC Properties and River Front Properties.

Black Rock currently offers a private non-equity membership for $125,000. Memberships are limited to Black Rock owners and those who are personally invited to purchase a membership independently from a property owner. The Club at Black Rock will ultimately contain 726 home sites, homes and cabins among its total of 1,800 acres.
