About The Club at Black Rock

Situated above Rockford Bay on majestic Lake Coeur d'Alene, The Club at Black Rock currently includes 650 acres of property highlighted by the award-winning Jim Engh-designed golf course, named the "Best New Private Course in America" by Golf Digest. The site also boasts a 31,000 square foot fully-appointed Clubhouse and 381 homesites for custom homes as well as three options of "turn-key" luxury homes known as Member Cabins, The Village and Golf Cottages. These homes vary from 1,500 to 2,650 square feet are fully designed and furnished in both rustic and contemporary styles. The Club currently has approximately 300 Members.

In July, 2006 the Kootenai County Commissioners gave final approval on a much-anticipated expansion of The Club at Black Rock. In September, ground was broken on a Tom Weiskopf-designed golf course and necessary infrastructure for additional amenities and homesites.

This expansion will add approximately 1,100 acres of property, for a total of about 1,800 acres, to include the Weiskopf Course as well as a companion Clubhouse, providing an additional 345 full memberships. The course is expected to open by spring 2009. Members will have access to current and future amenities including both golf courses. Exciting additional amenities are underway, lead by the construction of the Kootenai Cabin, a clubhouse designed for Kids and Teens. The cabin will feature a rock-climbing wall, basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, a pool, a lake for fishing, zip line, and supervised activities via the seasonal Kid's Camp. Other golf amenities will include an 18-hole putting course, Par 3 course and enhanced practice facilities. Turn-key homes such as the Member Cabins and Golf Cottages are also planned. An on site, fully appointed Equestrian Center is also in the planning stages. Currently Black Rock members have access to equestrian activities at Black Rock Ranch in Harrison, ID.

Additional lots for Custom Homes will include options of larger homesites, including The Ridge at Sunup Bay. These estate-sized parcels feature extraordinary views of Lake Coeur d'Alene and surrounding mountains.
